She hid in the forest - mud stained her dress.
Haunted by images of him when he couldn’t care less.
Maybe she’d win, maybe this would be the time
But he won’t give in; his desire crosses the line
Waiting for the moment when fate reacts
The warmth of his breath, only inches away

 from the cold, hard facts.

Hiding in a tavern, hood pulled down low, throwing the dice with nothing to show.
A kissing dance, traditions to pay, finding a lap, so you can still play.

She listened close to the secrets said.
Took them to heart before she fled.
She was fast, she was strong.
But the night would end before too long.
